As I type that, I have to wonder if I am lacking in character development in my stories. I don't think so because, I enjoy learning about the people, characters and situations in the books I love to read. I enjoy learning more about them than the main plot to be honest. I just finished reading Fourth Wing and I am now on Iron Flame. I am also reading Dare to Lead by Brene Brown. It's a really interesting and positive learning tool for higher education leadership.
That being said, I have been in Information Technology for almost 18 years. I have been in higher education IT for three of those 18 years. The rest of my years were in Federal, County and City Government as both an employee and contractor. I do not want to talk about my work in those capacities here. I will say though I might talk about higher education a little bit because of the impact younger adults have on me. I promise though, it will be more for background understanding than for anything else.
I suffer from RA and T1D. I was confirmed BRAC2 ATM+ in my early 30s so I had corrective surgery to forgo the cancer complications. The RA is the most recent diagnosis. It was a result of the COVID vaccine. My T1D status has been with me the longest almost 39 years now. Therefore, as much as I love hand writing my pieces on paper and with a pen. I find that typing is easier on the RA than anything else at this point. So while I might start off on a piece of paper, I will always end up typing it here because it is just faster than writing it.
I am married to a wonderful man who is looking to go back to school. He is planning on using his VA benefits to go back to school and be a librarian. He is going though a rough patch right now. His parents are not well, so positive thoughts and prayers would be great if you could for him.
Other than that as a writer, I love to write with a fairy tale, children's background in my story but putting it in adult context. For example, having talking dragons, rabbits and turtles engage us as adults. So in essence I fall into the fantasy genera because that is where I find the most joy when I am writing fiction. I also write blogs just to get emotions, thoughts, and perceptions out so I can focus my mind on other things.
I also enjoy the Food Network channel. I can binge watch Guy's Grocery Games and Tournament of Champions for hours on end. So there might be some food scenes in a good chapter of my fiction. So grab a cup of your favorite drink and snack and lets get to come creative thoughts.
