Positive Gardening

 Hello World Wide Readers,

I hope this posting finds you well today.  I am sorry I have not been posting lately.  It's been a busy couple of weeks. I have been working in my garden.  I have started peas, carrots, lettuce, potatoes, and some wild flowers.  It's really exciting to watch them burst from the soil.  The green onions have just taken off which I have found to be very interesting.

So in case your interested, this blog is going to be positive and about gardening.  This way your not forced to read something and be bored with it.

My dad's mother and aunt were master gardeners. My dad is a gardener and well I try to be but more often than not, I get the plants going and then they die for some reason or another. It's sad because I grow attach to them and love watching them grow. However, I have still have not mastered anything other than a Myer Lemon which comes from a small tree branch in a pot. I can grow cacti and flowers.  However, they do not produce enough food to be  sustainable.

I swear though this year I am going to be different...or at least I hope so.  I don't want them to die. I am working to make sure I protect them from the squirrels. I found some little gnomes at the dollar general store so I put them in the pots to deter the squirrels from coming near the pots. Every season it is something with the garden.

Hence the positivity, I start every season excited to see what I can do.  I have knowledge that the odds are stacked against me with being successful but I still make the attempt. I do it because it's part of my families history and it's part of my husband's families history.  We come from a line of gardeners.  Ben is way more effective at it than I am but I am sure this year something will produce.

I brought out my stuffed pig Cutlet to give them a pep talk.  Cutlet is a snarky little pig that has his positive days but more often than not he is always trying to get a laugh.  I caught him giving the potatoes a pep talk since last year they all failed in our garden.  I don't know if it was positive or more of a threat....I appreciate the help though. :)

Have a wonderful week everyone and till next time.  Stay positive and full of joy, because the world is full of nice people, if you can't find one, then be one. :)

M
